Social Media for Business and Recruitment Masterclass

The Social Media for Business and Recruitment Masterclass is now available for delegates to book onto. We anticipate these sessions to be popular and so will be offered on a first come, first served basis with only 1 delegate ticket per provider. There is no cost for attendance.

Course Outline:

An interactive workshop for providers who already have a presence on social media but could benefit from optimising this for business and recruitment purposes. 

Suitable for: providers with a current presence on Facebook and Twitter with admin rights to their pages/profiles.

 This course will cover:

  •  An overview and introduction to Facebook & Twitter
  • How to set up and optimise business social media profiles
  • How to use each platform-business functions to drive business and recruitment
  • Social media best practices – basic dos and don’ts
  • Ideas for appropriate and engaging content
  • How to measure social media success
  • Reputation and risk management
  • An introduction to visual social media platforms of Instagram, Pinterest or YouTube

Delegate numbers are limited, as such please note we will only be able to offer 1 delegate place per organisation.

Please bring your own laptop to access your social media accounts. Limited spares will be available if you do not have access to a laptop.

Please note: Teas/Coffees will be available at the start of the session, delegates will need to provide their own snacks/lunch.

Free enhanced care training – limited spaces still available

Norfolk and Suffolk Care Support, in partnership with Norfolk County Council, have secured funding from Skills for Care to deliver a programme of free enhanced care training courses for adult social care staff in Norfolk.

The training is being delivered by N&SCS endorsed learning providers and will be held across the county in January, with further dates in March (including sessions in Great Yarmouth and Coltishall). These courses are free and are open to managers and training coordinators as well as care assistants/support workers.

Topics being covered in January are:

  • Harm Free Care (pressure ulcers, falls and urinary catheter infections)
  • Person-centred care & the strengths-based approach
  • Assistive Technology
  • Supporting people returning home & reablement
  • End of Life Care (Fully booked)
  • Dementia
  • Medication

Free Safeguarding Training!

Norfolk: Safeguarding Awareness

Who can attend?

Anyone working in the county of Norfolk, including employees of Norfolk County Council, and employees of private, voluntary and independent sector care providers, and volunteers.

This is a basic awareness session.

Learning outcomes: by the end of this session participants should:

  • Understand what safeguarding is and their role in safeguarding adults
  • Understand the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda and how to ascertain the outcomes the service user wishes for themselves
  • Recognise an adult potentially in need of safeguarding and take action
  • Understand the procedures for making a safeguarding alert
  • Understand dignity and respect when working with individuals
  • Have knowledge of policy, procedures and legislation that supports safeguarding adults activity


Free to employees of Norfolk County Council, and to unpaid volunteers from any organisation in the county of Norfolk.

£25.00 including VAT per person for paid employees of private, voluntary and independent sector care providers.

Norfolk Medicines Support Service: Medication Training 2018

Medication administration courses for home care workers are now available. 

The courses are open to those working in domiciliary care, supported living, reablement, housing with care, day services.

Courses cover:

  • Medication Policy and Safety
  • Administration of medication
  • Handling of Medicines
  • MAR Charts


There are 2 levels of course:

  • Initial Medication (Home Care) Training
  • Refresher Medication (Home Care) Training


Initial Medication Training (full day)

Who can attend?

This course is aimed at care and support workers who will need to handle and administer medication as part of their role. Workers should be working in a home care setting. Initial Medication Training is suitable if you have never done NMSS training before, or want a full days’ knowledge and content.


Refresher Medication Training (half day)

Who can attend?

This course is aimed at care and support workers who have already undertaken NMSS training and need a refresher on core knowledge and skills in order to remain compliant with the Medication Policy for home care. Workers should be working in a home care setting.

Refresher training should be undertaken at least every three years (two years for NCC workers).
